Summer Analyst – Capital Markets Job Description
Our Capital Markets Summer Analyst position offers a unique experience on Wall Street in a proprietary and dynamic solutions-focused team. Our Capital Markets Group is both product-agnostic and sector-agnostic, leading the execution, structuring, and placement services for customized public and private transactions across a diverse client base. Capital Markets for our clients addresses a broad range of uses, including buyouts, growth and venture capital, platform formation, refinancings, M&A, restructurings, rescue financings, recapitalizations, balance sheet repair & optimization, project financing, strategic initiatives, and public listings. Moelis & Company Summer Analysts are expected to assume significant levels of responsibility requiring intellectual curiosity, motivation and analytical aptitude. At our Firm you will not be defined by your job title, but by the contributions you make and the enthusiasm you bring to the work we do. The day-to-day responsibilities of a Summer Analyst include: financial analysis and modeling, company & market research, preparation of client presentations and interacting with senior bankers, clients, and investors.
Moelis & Company Summer Analysts participate in a 10-week summer internship. All Summer Analysts have educational and social events to help establish a better understanding of both the industry and the Firm. Moelis & Company’s Summer Analysts participate in a one-week training program that includes financial modeling and valuation training.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Work as an instrumental part of the firm’s dedicated Capital Markets team over the summer to execute a full range of financial and strategic capital transactions across both private and public mandates
- Assess a company’s optimal capitalization and sources of incremental capital
- Perform valuation and capital structure analyses
- Construct financial models to forecast and analyze pro forma effects of transaction structures
- Participate in client meetings and assist in conducting due diligence sessions
- Develop company marketing materials
- Participate in deal structuring and negotiation (including qualitative and quantitative analysis and presentation of alternatives)
- Manage multi-channel live deal processes on tight and dynamic timelines with multiple involved parties
- Develop relationships and knowledge of buy-side investor universe
- Draft group presentations and capital markets updates
To be considered, you must:
- Currently be enrolled in a four-year undergraduate college or university with a graduation date between December 2027 and July 2028

Expected Salary Range: $110,000 Annual
